WELCOME TO RURAL WATER DISTRICT NO. 1

LANCASTER COUNTY, NEBRASKA

** New Rate Changes for 2024 **

Over the past twenty-five years, Lancaster Rural Water District customers have received safe and reliable water service without experiencing an overall rate increase. In fact, the minimum charge in 1997 was $33.00 with a price increase to $35.00 in 2013. We have strived to keep the minimum charge as low as possible without a huge monthly impact to customers.

Due to inflation, land purchase for a second wellfield, wells 5 and 6 replacement, and other overall costs associated with running the water district, the Lancaster Rural Water Board of Directors approved an overall minimum increase to all district customers. Monthly minimums will increase from $35.00 to $50.00 per customer for 0-3000 gallons. The base rate of $3 per 1,000 gallon has increased to $4 per 1,000 gallon. An Updated Water Rate Structure was also approved which will take effect April 1, 2024. Rate Schedules will be sent out to all customers in their February and March water bills, along with the complete rate structure and break down of the monthly minimum. All information can be found on our website at www.lrwd1.com under the Water Rates Tab
